Raleigh prides itself in being better, not bigger, but the city is growing fast, and as one of Raleigh’s most active home builders, KB Home’s Raleigh-Durham team has been very busy building homes for families in the Triangle area. Raleigh, along with Durham and Chapel Hill, make up the Research Triangle, a major national technological center. Let’s take a look at some of the many reasons the Raleigh-Durham Triangle is a fantastic place to call home:
Since 2010, Raleigh has been named “America’s Best City to Live”, “Fastest Growing City for Technology Jobs” and “Most Wired City”. It also ranked second for “Safest Feeling City in America” and fifth for “Best Cities for Raising a Family”. Raleigh is consistently in the top-10 of most national rankings.
Going to school in Raleigh? You have plenty of options! N.C. State is in Raleigh. Duke and the University of North Carolina are in the Triangle, and there are many other smaller universities in the area. Great schools and an abundance of museums (more than 50!) mean there are many educational opportunities for all ages to enjoy!
Raleigh is home to a two-day arts festival known as “Artsplosure,” that seeks to inspire creativity and involves all ages in as many art forms as possible. “Kidsplosure” is Artplosure’s hands-on family fun fair that runs at the same time and claims a huge variety of interactive crafts and activities. “Animazement,” a two-day festival of Japanese art and anime, also occurs in Raleigh. Music lovers can enjoy Raleigh’s annual bluegrass festival and the Hopscotch Music Festival which features a full weekend of live music.
The state farmers market in Raleigh is one of the largest in the nation, covering 30,000 acres. With over 800 restaurants in the city to choose from, there are plenty of amazing options to chow down! Several food festivals are also spread throughout the year, and most of the arts festivals also involve food.
